The Prompt:
Day 1: Design an office building with an atrium in the south facade. The site must allow for 27 parking stalls (including 2 BF stalls)
Time: 6.5hrs
Day 2: Annotate details and design offices that meet the requirements set out by the judges
Time: 4.5hrs
This project done in the 2024 Alberta skills competition was a fun and demanding challenge. It is a 2-storey office building with an atrium and full interior floor plans. We were only given a total of 11 hours to complete all the required drawings which is why I believe this project is a fantastic reference for my time management skills.
I am happy to say that despite the limited time, I believe I effectively applied the knowledge I have gained throughout my SAIT experience, to finish with an outstanding final drawing set and go home with the gold medal!
