This semesters focus was the renovation of an old office / educational building into a B&B and exhibition area. The design proposal includes 4 B&B's on the first floor, and a steel exoskeleton exhibition area. This was my first time engaging in renovations which opened up numerous learning opportunities regarding older building techniques and the registration process of existing buildings. This project was also an exercise in compromise given the inherent fragility when applying modern building practices to old structures. In the end I would create a thorough and well researched set of drawings entailing the construction (and partial demolition where neccesary), as well as creating a rough time schedule and construction site plan. We would also create a consultancy contract, choosing to pursue an induvidual contract.

As part of individual element of this project I created a blacksmith tender booklet for the renovation and additions to the existing building. It contains step by step overviews of each task, including specifications and appropriate tolerances. I would also create a case specification document, a bidding list, work specification, and a tender control plan along with the booklet.
